The White-Headed Duck is a small stiff-tailed duck. It inhabits wetlands, lakes, and ponds. It is omnivorous and eat primarily vegetable matter, however it also feeds on larvae, crabs, snails, small fish, seeds. The White-Headed Duck is capable of swimming and diving underwater. Both males and females have dark brown bodies, but they also have some distinct features. The males, for example have blue bills and the females have darker caps and stripes on their cheeks.
