The Paghman Brook Salamander is a salamander native to Afghanistan. It inhabits cold streams in the Paghman mountains of the country. It may also be found in the Hindu Kush Mountains. Its diet consists of aquatic invertebrates. As an aquatic creature, the Paghman Brook Salamander is capable of feeding underwater and under rocks in streams. On average, it may live to about eleven years in the wild. Though legally protected by the Afghan Government, the Paghman Brook, sometimes called the Afghan Stream Salamander among a few other names, is considered Critically Endangered.
