H.E Dr. Sayed M. Amin Fatimie attends to the 50th Anniversary of the African Union

May 25th, 2013: Ambassador Dr. Sayed M. amin Fatimie attended a reception in honor of the 50th Anniversary of the African Union.

The event was nobly hosted by H.E Ambassador João Miguel Vahekeni of the Republic of Angola. The reception was also attended by Their Excellencies the Ambassadors of a number of African states and supportive nations. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie extended sincerest congratulations to the African Diplomatic Corps, including prominently H.E. Ambassador Sodovjamts Khurelbaatar of the Republic of Mozambique, on this auspicious event. Furthermore, on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Ambassador Dr. Fatimie expressed to the aforementioned Ambassadors and additional Excellencies sincerest gratitude for the support of many African countries through their respective memberships in the OIC to bettering the lives of the Afghan people and to the development and peace in Afghanistan. Ambassador Fatimie also wished the respective members of the African Union continued advancement in terms of development and security.

Ambassador Dr. Fatimie had the opportunity to meet esteemed representatives of the Japanese Government, such as H.E. former Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori; H.E. Fumio Kishida, Minister for Foreign Affairs; and other dignitaries such as H.E Keiichiro Tachibana, Vice Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications; and Mr. Yasutoshi Nishimura, H.E. Senior Vice-minister of Cabinet Office. To H.E. Mr. Mori and the other aforementioned friends, the Ambassador offered deepest gratitude on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, for the ongoing support provided by Japan in Afghanistan. For their part, these individuals expressed their nation's will to continue to work together for an even more peaceful and prosperous Afghanistan.

Ambassador Fatimie also met outstanding guests such as Mr. Yoshihiro Terada, General Director of Trade Fair Department Japan External Trade Organization; and Mr. Gorota Kume, President of Paris Club.
