Ambassador Fatimie attends Europe Day reception

May 9, 2013: Ambassador Dr. Sayed M. Amin Fatimie attended a reception in honor of Europe Day at the Europa House in Tokyo. The event brought together many of Their Excellencies the Ambassadors of European nations, whom Ambassador Dr. Fatimie had the pleasure of congratulating; Their Excellencies the Ambassadors of non-European nations sharing in the celebration; prominent Japanese officials; and other key supporters.

Ambassador Dr. Fatimie had the opportunity to specifically speak with H.E. Ambassador Hans Dietmar Schweisgut of the Delegation of the European Union to Japan. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie expressed, on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, sincerest congratulations on this auspicious occasion. Hailing the impact-generating, multi-sector support extended by the European Union and its member states to Afghanistan’s peace and development, Ambassador Dr. Fatimie conveyed deepest appreciation. H.E. Ambassador Schweisgut generously in turn expressed appreciation for Ambassador Dr. Fatimie’s attendance at the event and declared that the commitment of the European Union to Afghanistan is unwavering and will continue.

Prominent among other key dignitaries that Ambassador Dr. Fatimie had the honor to speak with was Hon. Counsellor Natsuo Yamaguchi, President of the New Komeito. Ambassador Fatimie was able to renew sentiments of sincerest appreciation for the friendship extended by Hon. Councillor Yamaguchi and the New Komeito to Afghanistan. The Ambassador was also able to meet with Dr. Yukiko Shirahara, Chief Curator of Nezu Museum who kindly invited the Ambassador to visit the museum.
