Ambassador Fatimie Receives Mr. and Mrs. Mazyar, Mr. Asefi

May 8, 2013: Ambassador Dr. Sayed M. Amin Fatimie received at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Tokyo Mr. Daud Mazyar and Mrs. Fahima Rahimi Mazyar, accompanied by prominent Afghan resident of Japan and long-time Embassy friend Mr. Farooq Asefi. Mr. and Mrs. Mazyar are currently visiting Japan. Mr. Abdul Ghafoor Poya Faryabi, Minister Counselor, was also in attendance.

A former youth leader in Afghanistan in the 1980s to 1990 and career diplomat who spent time in Moscow for 3 years, Mr. Mazyar has been a proponent of Afghan solidarity and unified action. He currently operates as a businessman in Germany, but remains attuned to the political developments in Afghanistan and is eager to further contribute positively.

Ambassador Dr. Fatimie expressed sincere gratitude, on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, to the all guests for their inspired and dedicated work towards Afghanistan’s prosperity. To Mr. Mazyar , the Ambassador expressed deepest appreciation for his laudable past achievements and current motivation. To Mr. Asefi, Ambassador Dr. Fatimie expressed the same for his continued support of the Embassy and its activities, as well as Mr. Asefi’s efforts to bring the Afghan and Japanese peoples closer together. The parties discussed many issues related to Afghan-Japanese relations.
