April 22, 2013: Ambassador Dr. Sayed M. Amin Fatimie made a visit to Nippon Sport Science University in Tokyo to meet with a close friend of the Afghan people, Mr. Kenshiro Matsunami, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chancellor of the University. Mr. Matsunami has a long and deep connection with Afghanistan, having served previously in prominence at Kabul University, having been a key architect of Japanese cooperation in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan’s peace and development as a Diet member, and continuing as an active and support partner in his current role.

Ambassador Dr. Fatimie was impressed once again by the hospitality extended by Mr. Matsunami, who had the corridor in which they walked lined with Afghan carpets. The two friends spoke on a number of matters of mutual interest, and Ambassador Dr. Fatimie expressed renewed gratitude, on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, for Mr. Matsunami and the esteemed Mrs. Matsunami’s friendship, partnership, and effect-generating activities.
