Ambassador Fatimie attends State of Kuwait National Day reception

February 25, 2013: Ambassador Dr. Sayed Amin Fatimie and the Ambassadress attended a reception at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo in celebration of the National Day of the State of Kuwait.

Ambassador Dr. Fatimie firstly extended sincerest congratulations on the auspicious occasion to H.E. Ambassador Abdul-Rahman Humood A.R. Al-Otaibi, a dear friend representing a nation with excellent ties to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie then offered deepest gratitude on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, for the support provided by H.M. Sheikh Sabah IV Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and the Government and people of this noble nation.

Ambassador Dr. Fatimie was also fortunate enough to meet with some excellent individuals, such as great friend Hon. Counsellor Kazuyuki Hamada, Hon. Ms. Yasuko Komiyama of the People’s Life Party, a number of Their Excellencies the Ambassadors of missions based in Tokyo, Chancellor Kenshiro Matsunami of Nippon Sports Science University, Mr. Shigeru Yamazoe of Marubeni Corp., and members of the public and private sectors.

Of particular note as well was that the Ambassador was able to meet with Director General Shigeo Matsutomi (pictured below) of the Intelligence and Analysis Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, along with his wonderful wife. Mr. Matsutomi, a close friend, graciously spent a number of minutes discussing with Ambassador Dr. Fatimie a number of interesting points of mutual concern. As always, Ambassador Dr. Fatimie was able to convey his deep gratitude for the role that the Director General plays in the life-bettering Japanese assistance to Afghanistan.
