Ambassador Fatimie meets with representatives of International School of Asia, Karuizawa

February 13, 2013: Ambassador Dr. Sayed M. Amin Fatimie welcomed to the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Japan Director Hiroko Kono and Mr. Kazuaki Shimojima, Program Manager, of International School of Asia, Karuizawa (ISAK). Mr. Sayed Ali Asghar Amiri, Third Secretary, was also in attendance. ISAK is a foundation dedicated to educating young, talented international students, particularly middle school students. The program is interested in potentially welcoming Afghan students.

Ambassador Fatimie expressed his great admiration for the aims of the program, expressing the importance of education and international cooperation, not only towards Afghanistan’s development, but for the entire world in this modern era. He further expressed approval as Japan as a setting for such a program as Japan has been a selfless and effect-generating partner in Afghanistan’s peace and multi-sector strides forward – which has instilled the deepest sense of gratitude in the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
