Ambassador Fatimie visits head of National Directorate of Security Asadullah Khalid

January 18, 2013: Ambassador Dr. Sayed M. Amin Fatimie visited the head of National Directorate of Security (NDS), Mr. Asadullah Khalid, who is recovering at a hospital in the United States.

As one who respects the dedication to Afghanistan that Mr. Khalid has given, Ambassador Fatimie was honored to be able to pay respects at this important moment. As a physician, the Ambassador was also able to notice positive progress in the recovery of this national hero. Ambassador Fatimie expressed gratitude for Mr. Khalid’s personal efforts towards increasing the reach of peace and security in Afghanistan and wished him a speedy recovery.

That day, Ambassador Fatimie was also honored with a very warm welcome at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Washington by H.E. Ambassador Eklil Hakimi and Mr. Ashor Azimi. Ambassador Fatimie firstly expressed admiration for the diligent professionalism extended by the Embassy, under H.E. Ambassador Hakimi’s leadership, towards working with American allies to better Afghan lives and further strengthen Afghan-US relations. The close friends then discussed in a very cordial atmosphere a number of topics of shared interest.
