Ambassador Fatimie, Embassy staff extend warmest welcome to H.E. Acting Deputy Minister Ismati of MRRD and delegation

October 2, 2012: Ambassador Dr. Sayed M. Amin Fatimie and the staff of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan extended the warmest welcome to H.E. Mr. Mohammad Tariq Ismati, Acting Deputy Minister of Programmes of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD). H.E. is in Japan in order to participate in the “Short-Term Counterpart Training Program under the Project for Strengthening Community-led Rural Development Support System in Afghanistan” as organized by the Japan International Cooperation Agency.

Ambassador Fatimie firstly expressed that the entire staff of the Embassy was honored to receive the delegation. Verbalizing his great respect for the activities of the Ministry, Ambassador Fatimie shared of the excellent cooperation that existed between MRRD and his office during his time as Minister of Public Health; H.E. the Acting Deputy Minister in turn commented that Health and Development are mutually re-enforcing and that great progress had been made together. H.E. Mr. Ismati described the comprehensiveness of His Ministry’s activities, stating that in principle each of Afghanistan’s 40,000 villages have benefitted from at least 3 development projects. Both sides praised Japan and JICA as a major partner in this development, and a nation and people that have brought real life improvements to the Afghan people. Ambassador Fatimie congratulated H.E. the Acting Deputy Minister and encouraged the group to have a very positive experience in Japan.
