Ambassador Fatimie, Embassy welcome back to Japan Mr. Soroosh

September 27, 2012: Ambassador Dr. Sayed M. Amin Fatimie and the staff of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan warmly welcomed back to Tokyo Mr. Hassan Soroosh. Mr. Soroosh had previously served as a diplomat at this Embassy and was highly respected by colleagues and those Japanese and international parties he was in contact with. Currently as an employee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he has been provided the opportunity to pursue higher education in Tokyo, an excellent investment in his skills that will serve the Ministry upon his return.

Ambassador Fatimie shared his happiness that such motivated young officials show this level of dedication to improving their ability to serve the people of Afghanistan. Offering encouragement in his studies, the Ambassador challenged him to absorb not only the knowledge provided at the institute, but to further his understanding of Japanese culture, language, and manners, as per H.E. President Hamid Karzai’s recent appeal to Afghans studying in Japan. Mr. Soroosh expressed with humbleness his intention to do his best to meet this challenge.
