Ambassador Fatimie, Embassy welcome students and teachers from Gifu City Nagamori Minami Junior High School.

May 31, 2012: Ambassador Dr. Sayed M. Amin Fatimie and staff welcomed to the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Tokyo a group of more than 60 visitors from Gifu City Nagamori Minami Junior High School. The visiting group, which come from a school with very special ties to Afghanistan and the Embassy, was headed by Ms. Noriko Hiyoki.

The guests were welcomed by Ambassador Fatimie, who stated that he was honored to open the Embassy to these future leaders of Japan; the Ambassador further expressed how sincerely grateful he and Afghanistan are to the people of Japan, and within that the people of Gifu, for the generous and selfless support provided towards Afghan peace and development. The visit featured a tour of the Embassy premises, a presentation on Afghanistan and Afghan-Japanese relations, and a question and answer session with Dr. Bashir Mohabbat, Deputy Head of Mission. In closing, the Ambassador presented the school with gifts of Afghan artistry and a book of Afghan photos.
