Ambassador Fatimie welcomes visitors from Chikuma City, Nagano

March 28, 2012: Ambassador Dr. Sayed M. Amin Fatimie welcomed visitors from Chikuma City, Nagano Prefecture to the Embassy of the Islamic republic of Afghanistan. 54 people were in attendance – most were 5th grade elementary students from Haruta Elementary School. The visit was organized by Mr. Shibata, a great friend and supporter of the Japanese grassroots aid in Afghanistan.

Chikuma City has been a hub and a connection point for Afghan-Japanese relations and Haruta Elementary School has connections to a school in Charekar.

A presentation was given by Mr. Jason Pratt, Public Relations officer, and Mr. Ashraf Baburi. Following this was a tour of the embassy. Ambassador Fatimie also presented gifts of appreciation to Mr. Shibabta and the school.
