H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie Attends Cool Japan 2014 – Through Diplomats’ Eyes


October 9, 2014: H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie had the honor to attend the Award Ceremony and Opening Reception of the Cool Japan 2014 – Through Diplomats’ Eyes exhibition. Held at Roppongi Hills, the glamorous Awards Ceremony and Opening Reception were attended by Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado, government officials, Ambassadors from the spectrum of the diplomatic community in Tokyo, and other distinguished guests.

Cool Japan 2014 – Through Diplomats' Eyes is a unique photo exhibition which displays the photos taken by Ambassadors and their spouses and offers a special perspective of how Japan is viewed and experienced. This year’s Prince Takamado Memorial Prize and Grand Prize were won by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation H.E. Roman Malyshev and the Spouse of the Ambassador of the Federated States of Micronesia H.E. Momoe Fritz respectively.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie’s contribution to the exhibition has been widely applauded by both Japanese and the foreign diplomatic community. Titled “Faces of Tokyo Tower”, His Excellency’s photos reveal six stunning images of the Tokyo Tower, taken from the Afghan Embassy’s roof, and feature this icon of Japan in various impressive weather conditions, by day and by night. These stunning photos were published on page 14 of the 74 paged Cool Japan 2014! Through Diplomats’ Eyes magazine.
