Ambassador Dr. Fatimie attends National Day reception of Italy

June 2, 2014: Ambassador Dr. Sayed M. Amin Fatimie joined a reception to mark the National Day of Italy at the Italian Embassy in Tokyo. The event was also significant as H.E. Ambassador Domenico Giorgi shared details regarding Expo Milano 2015, which opened on May 1st and continues until October 1st. The Expo particularly considers the future of food production and consumption.

Ambassador Dr. Fatimie had the pleasure of expressing, on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, heartfelt congratulations to H.E. Ambassador Giorgi on this auspicious occasion. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie further offered sincerest condolences over the sacrifices that have been made by Italians in Afghanistan, but described how these brave persons and the generous contributions that Italy has made have helped bring real progress and betterment to lives.

Ambassador Dr. Fatimie had the further honor of meeting with long-time friend Hon. Councillor Dr. Kazuyuki Hamada (pictured above) at the event. Speaking on issues of shared interest, the Ambassador took the chance to renew deepest gratitude for the effect-generating support that Japan has extended to Afghanistan’s peace and development, and for the enlightened role that Hon. Dr. Hamada plays within.
