Ambassador Fatimie attends H.E. President Aquino’s honorary doctorate award ceremony at Sophia University

December 13, 2013: Ambassador Dr. Sayed M. Amin Fatimie attended a ceremony in which H.E. President Benigno Aquino III of the Republic of the Philippines was awarded an honorary doctorate degree by Sophia University in Tokyo.

Following the awarding, Ambassador Dr. Fatimie had the honor to once again meet with H.E. President Aquino, and to offer him sincerest congratulations as well as cordial wishes, on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, for the prosperity of the Republic of the Philippines and the further recovery of the areas damaged in the recent tragic storms. In addition, Ambassador Fatimie was able to meet with H.E. Mr. Albert F. del Rosario, Secretary of Foreign Affairs; and H.E. Ns, Maria Theresa Lazaro, Assistant Secretary of Foreign Affairs. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie offered congratulations to these key officials on this auspicious occasion as well. In turn, the esteemed officials expressed gratitude to Ambassador Dr. Fatimie in regards to the release of two workers from the Republic of the Philippines who had been imprisoned in Afghanistan over business problems.

Ambassador Dr. Fatimie was also able to meet with Hon. Councillor Aiko Shimajiri and Dr. Saji Yamaoka and Mr. Masuo Kimura of Sophia University.
