Ambassador Fatimie welcomes Dr. Ahmad, Afghan delegation, Japanese civil society representatives

December 6, 2013: Ambassador Dr. Sayed M. Amin, along with Mrs. Orya Afzali Farima, Second Secretary, welcomed to the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan a delegation from Afghanistan headed by long-time, close friend Dr. Ahmad Jan Ahmad, Executive Director of Afghan NGOs Coordination Bureau, and Japanese civil society representatives. Dr. Ahmad’s delegation consisted of Engineer Baryalai Omarzai, Director of Afghan Community Rehabilitation Unit, and Mr. Ahmad Shah Massoud, Training Manager of Agency Coordinating Body Afghan Relief. The Japanese side was represented by Mr. Kenta Aoki of Peace Winds Japan, Mr. Ryo Onoyama of Japan International Volunteer Center, and Mr. Nobuhiro Kagawa of Association for Aid and Relief Japan.

The Japanese contingent has been supporting the organizations of the aforementioned Afghan delegation and others in terms of capacity building. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie expressed deepest gratitude for these efforts, stating that they are highly important at this critical juncture in Afghanistan’s fast-paced development.
