Ambassador Fatimie, Embassy co-organize Afghan-Japanese cultural event with Prof. Miyagawa

November 7, 2013: Ambassador Dr. Sayed M. Amin Fatimie and the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Tokyo organized together with Professor Toshihiko Miyagawa an evening of Afghan and Japanese culture to promote mutual friendship and understanding. The event was held at Gakushikaikan in Tokyo and was attended by more than 200 people, including students of Prof. Miyagawa’s school system, lawmakers, and prominent Afghan and Japanese individuals. Ambassadress Fatimie also took part in the event.

The evening featured speeches by Ambassador Dr. Fatimie and Prof. Miyagawa; a presentation on Afghanistan by Mr. Jason Pratt, Public Affairs Officer; the telling of an Afghan traditional story; Japanese and Afghan music performances; a Karate exhibition; and Afghan dinner service. Children were also able to ask questions to the Ambassador. In his speech, Ambassador Dr. Fatimie expressed sincerest gratitude to the Professor and to his great team, prominently including Mr. Kenji Sasaki. The Ambassador also spoke on the importance of creating bonds between peoples.

Among the many excellent attendees, Ambassador was able to meet with persons such as Hon. Councillor Kiyohiko Toyama, Mr. Hirota Inoue of New Japan Pro Wrestling, and Ms. Maki Hosokawa of Nilia Bunny.
