Ambassador Fatimie welcomes Peace Graduate students and Mr. Shimada of JICA

June 27, 2013: Ambassador Dr. Sayed M. Amin Fatimie and the diplomatic staff welcomed back to the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Tokyo Afghan graduates from Tokyo International University and Mr. Haruyuki Shimada of the South Asia Department of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

JICA provided scholarships to Mr. Sayed Jamaluddin Firozi, a Graduate of Cultural Relations Departments; Mr. Hazrat Mohammad Bahar, a Graduate of Shaikh Zayad University; Mr. Ajmal Khan, a Graduate of Reform Implementation Management Unit; Mr. Mohammad Omar Zubair, a Graduate of Planning and Policy Department; and Mr. Abdul Malik Hatam; whom all successfully graduated.

Mr. Shimada has visited Afghanistan twice this year and shared his positive perspective on the improving conditions of the country. The five graduate students gave short presentations of their research projects.

Ambassador Dr. Fatimie welcomed the guests warmly, expressing, on behalf of the people and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, great appreciation for the noble work that JICA has accomplished in Afghanistan towards increased productivity, sustainability, and peace. After congratulating the graduate students, Ambassador Dr. Fatimie awarded certificates and encouraged the attendees to return to home to apply what they have learned in Japan.
