H.E. President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani confers outgoing Ambassador of Japan to Kabul, H.E. Mr. Hiroshi Takahashi, with the high state medal of “Ghazi Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan”.
October 15, 2016: President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani conferred the High State Medal of Ghazi Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan in a farewell ceremony this afternoon on the ambassador of Japan Hiroshi Takahashi to commend his efforts and service at the completion of his mission.
While serving in Afghanistan, Ambassador Takashi has undertaken sustained and untiring efforts in strengthening and broadening bilateral ties between Afghanistan and Japan, as well as garnering, organizing and providing assistance.
President Ghani thanked Japan for its assistance and cooperation with Afghanistan, and commended Ambassador Takashi for his efforts in attracting continued support for Afghanistan in different areas, as he wished him success in his future endeavors.

Ambassador Takashi thanked the President for conferring the medal on him in appreciation of his service, and expressed happiness about his service in Afghanistan underscored that he will always remember Afghanistan as a friend.
