Exports increase by 40% in 1st quarter

Exports have increased to US$100 million for the first quarter this year, a 40% increase over the first quarter of last year. This increase is largely due to the higher volume of fruit exported in the quarter, 6,000 tons as compared to 4,000 tons in the same period in the previous year, according to an interview by Bakhtar News Agency with Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Chairman Qurban Mohammad Haqjo. Handicrafts, including carpets, were also heavily exported.
