Hundreds Flock to Herat's Fine Art Fair

October 29 ( Herat's fine art fair has kicked off with Islamic calligraphy, miniature paintings and other handicrafts on display.

The 10-day fair, at the Ustad Kamaludin Behzad School in Herat city, will exhibit about 750 examples of fine art created by professional artists, students and teachers.

The head of the school, one of the leading colleges of fine art in the country, said the fair would expand the knowledge of fine art among students.

“Many visitors came to the fair on the opening day and many people believe such fairs can spread fine art in the country and encourage the youth to be creative,” the principal said.

The fine arts school is named after a famous artist and trains about 350 young artists every year.
