Ambassador Mohabbat Met with Ms. Omae of JICE

August 21, 2020: Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat had a meeting today with Ms. Keiko Omae of Japan International Cooperation Center, JICE. They exchanged views on joint efforts taken by the Embassy, JICE, Omuta City, and Fukuoka Prefecture to facilitate pre-Games training camp and cultural exchange programs in Omuta City under “Host Tow Initiative” for Afghan athletes participating in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games next year.

Omuta city is the hometown of the late Dr. Tetsu Nakamura, then Head of the PMS, who dedicated his life to changing the lives of Afghans through the provision of health services and improving the irrigation system in Eastern Afghanistan. Under this initiative, Omuta City is supposed to host pre-Games training camp for Afghan athletes and facilitate cultural exchanges with the people of Omuta aimed to honor the legacy of Dr. Nakamura.

Mr. Nasrullah Rozbeh, Second Secretary of the Embassy, and Mr. Ide of JICE also attended the meeting.
