Ambassador Mohabbat Participated in the 75th Anniversary of the Atomic Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki

August 06-09, 2020: Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat participated in the 75th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki cities, separately held on August 6 and 9 in Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and Nagasaki Peace Park. He joined the participants to pay tribute to the victims of these tragic events and to echo the voice of the people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki that the horror of nuclear weapons should never be repeated.


On the sideline of the memorial ceremony in Nagasaki, Ambassador Mohabbat had separate meetings with Honorable Mr. Tomihisa TAUE, Mayor of Nagasaki City, and Honorable Mr. Hodo NAKAMURA, Governor of Nagasaki Prefecture. They spoke about the historical and longstanding relationship between Japan and Afghanistan and other issues of mutual interest. Ambassador Mohabbat conveyed, on behalf of the people and government and of Afghanistan, his sincere gratitude to the people and government of Japan for their continued support to Afghanistan, including the recent financial contribution to fight the Covid-19 pandemic in Afghanistan.
