Hosting a Dinner for Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado and Mr. & Mrs. Kei & Ayako Moriya at the Ambassador’s Residence.

June 24, 2019: It was an extreme honor and pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to host a special dinner soiree for Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado and Mr. and Mrs. Kei and Ayako Moriya (the latter, née H.I.H. Princess Ayako of Takamado), at the Ambassador’s Residence within the Embassy in Tokyo.

Upon the arrival of the special guests, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat greeted H.I.H. Princess Takamado and Mr. & Mrs. Moriya within the grand foyer of the Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi Balkhi Hall and humbly thanked them for making the time in their busy schedules to join him at the Embassy for the evening. In return, H.I.H. Princess Takamado and Mr. & Mrs. Moriya thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for the invitation and for receiving them. Following the exchange of greetings, the special guests were treated to a distinctive welcoming ceremony in the style similar to a post-nuptial traditional Afghan Ceremony, in honor of the recent marriage of Mr. & Mrs. Moriya.

Following the welcoming ceremony, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat escorted them to the Ambassador’s Residence where they were treated to a specially prepared meal of traditional Afghan dishes prepared in honor of the occasion.

On behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat thanked H.I.H. Princess Takamado for the long time benevolent support by the noble nation of Japan and her people over the years to Afghanistan as it has striven for progress, prosperity, and peace. Further, he thanked H.I.H. and Mr. & Mrs. Moriya for their interest in Afghanistan’s heritage and traditional culture and assured them that the peace loving Afghan people would forever hold a treasured place in their hearts for the Noble Imperial Family of Japan and that the examples they have set is most assuredly spreading peace by example throughout the world. All present enjoyed many conversations on topics of mutual interest.
